SHOEI PERSONAL FITTING SYSTEM
Not all head shapes are alike and that makes it very difficult to find a perfect-fitting motorcycle helmet off the rack. In fact, for some people, finding a helmet that fits at all is nearly impossible. The solution? SHOEI Personal Fitting System (PFS). As one of only two certified SHOEI PFS dealers in Southern California, you can now get a custom fitted SHOEI helmet right here at Beach Moto.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A CUSTOM FITTED HELMET?
A properly fitted helmet can have a huge impact on your overall riding experience. Although everyone can benefit from a custom fit, it will be an absolute game-changer for those suffering from hot spots, pressure points, empty spaces and an impaired field of vision when wearing a helmet. A custom fitted helmet can also improve your aerodynamics, prevent the helmet from lifting at high speeds, increase safety and reduce wind noise.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you’re buying a new helmet, first and foremost we will help you find a SHOEI helmet model that is ideal for your riding style and application. Then the custom fitment can start.
SHOEI has provided us with specialized and properly calibrated tools that allow us to get precise measurements of the length, width, height and circumference of the head. All of our staff have been extensively trained on proper application of these measuring tools based on variable head shapes and sizes. These different points of measure allow us to accommodate people with round, long oval, intermediate oval, square shape heads and everything in between.
The measurements are then entered into SHOEI’S proprietary PFS computer system. The system analyzes the person’s head size and shape based on the provided measurements and displays a suggested baseline helmet size and necessary internal liner adjustments. From there, one of our Personal Fitting experts will begin to test fit the helmet with you based on SHOEI’s recommendations and make necessary adjustments to ensure the perfect fit. Our goal is to ensure the most comfortable fit as well as to maximize your field of vision. Where / how a helmet sits on your head will vary based on your riding position on the bike and application. We will make changes as many times as necessary until we meet the desired results.
Once the perfect fit has been achieved with test pads, our Personal Fitting experts will make the final and permanent adjustments to your helmet interior.
WHAT SHOEI HELMETS CAN BE CUSTOM FITTED?
All current SHOEI helmet models are eligible to be custom fitted:
- NEOTEC II
- GT-AIR II
- X-FOURTEEN
- RF-1400
- RF-SR
- J-CRUISE II
- HORNET X2
- VFX-EVO
Non-current SHOEI helmets may be custom fitted as well as long as they are still within the manufacturer recommended use range (5 years from start of use or 7 years from stamped manufacturing date).
We don’t stock all SHOEI helmet models. If you are looking for a specific helmet model, please refer to our website to verify we carry it. If you don’t see it on our site, please CONTACT US so we can arrange for the helmet model you’re looking for to be at the store before your arrival.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
If you are purchasing a new SHOEI helmet from us, the custom fit cost is only $75 on top of the cost of the helmet. If you are bringing a SHOEI helmet you already own, custom fit cost is $100.

The fitment process can take up to 45 minutes or even a bit longer if you’re picking out a helmet as well. To ensure you have our undivided attention, we recommend you make an appointment for your fitting.
