Modular helmets, otherwise known as Flip-Up helmets, are a great option for sport touring riders as well as a good compromise for those who insist on wearing an open face helmet. Modular helmets are indisputably convenient and when made by a reputable manufacturer, there is little to no safety compromise for city and highway use. Modulars are a great alternative for those used to riding with an open face helmet and although they are not made to be ridden flipped up at high speeds, being able to open the helmet on a hot day while crawling through traffic is a great option.
